Black walnut, food-safe oil finish
About this piece
Turned green from a single block of black walnut, then dried for several months before final shaping so it moves into its own shape rather than cracking. Roughly 9 inches across and 4 deep, though every bowl comes out a little different. Grain and color vary; that is the whole appeal.

Mill Village Woodworks
Ray is a retired contractor who mills most of his own stock from local storm-fall oak and walnut. Trays get hand-cut handles, bowls are turned wet and left to dry for months, and everything is finished with food-safe oil. No two pieces match, which is the point.
